This one is for all the stargazers out there. This November 2019, Vancouver will have the pleasure of witnessing a glorious full moon that will light up the night sky.
The Vancouver full beaver moon will emerge from November 11 through to November 12. Not only will the special full moon illuminate the city of Vancouver, but it will also cast long, beautiful rays, similar to those cast by the sun.
But have you ever heard of a beaver moon?
That’s one term to describe the full moon in November when beavers are known to get ready for winter by preparing their dams.
It’s also called Hunter’s moon because that’s the time of the year when deer are at their fattest, making them targets for human predators.
Beavers, on the other hand, worry more about coyotes, wolves, and bears.
So these creatures sometimes like creating moats around their lodges, which have underwater entrances. This keeps them safe from larger animals.
