The future is not looking so golden for a gold-toothed teen police in Fairfield, Calif. say was packing a stolen handgun.
Officers arrested 19-year-old Fairfield resident Jayro Magana after they say they found him with the stolen gun inside his jacket pocket during a traffic stop Saturday evening. The handgun was reported stolen out of Arizona.
Magana was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of possessing a concealed loaded firearm in a vehicle and possession of a stolen firearm.
The arrest caps a busy weekend for police in Fairfield, a city of a little more than 100,000 people located on I-80, about halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento.
On Thursday morning one of two suspects wanted in a fatal shooting earlier this month was arrested when he walked into the Police Department with an attorney and turned himself in. Demetrius Lamar Kelly, a 26-year-old from nearby Suisun City, was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into county jail for the April 6th shooting death of La Angelo Darnell Stroughter.
Police are still looking for a second suspect, identified as 28-year-old Kyle Mathew Amos, of Fairfield.
Then Friday, police say a man reported missing in Redwood City was found safe in a Fairfield motel. The man, who was considered at-risk because of a medical condition, was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
On Saturday, the search for a missing 15-year-old girl came to a happy conclusion when the teen was found safe. Officers had been searching for the girl after she left her home on foot with her dog Friday night and never returned.
Police say no foul play is suspected after she was found with another person at gas station, but did not release additional details about her overnight disappearance. The girl’s dog was found earlier in the day in a park.
