Caroline Giuliani, the daughter of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, is supporting Hillary Clinton for president.
Caroline Giuliani, the daughter of former New York City mayor and Trump surrogate Rudy Giuliani, has been vocal about her support of Hillary Clinton on Facebook, changing her profile picture to the Clinton campaign’s logo and sharing statuses about why she is supporting the first female presidential nominee of a major political party.
“I love Hillary, I think she’s by far the most qualified candidate that we’ve had in a long while,” she told Politico. “My dad knows. I was for Barack [Obama] in 2012. He knows and is fully comfortable with it and thinks I have a right to my opinion.”
The former New York City mayor has become one of Trump’s most prominent supporters, giving a speech in Trump’s favor at the Republican National Convention. He announced on Thursday that he would take a leave of absence from the law firm he joined earlier this year to focus on campaign full-time, the New York Observer first reported. And he’s publicly criticized Clinton, telling Elite Daily in an interview that she was a “phony” feminist and “too stupid” to be president if she didn’t know about her husband Bill Clinton’s infidelities.
The news of Caroline Giuliani’s support for Clinton comes just one week after pictures showed Barbara Bush, the daughter of former Republican president George W. Bush, at a Clinton fundraiser in Paris. Bush has not yet commented on whether she is voting for Clinton.
