The death of Sheena Marie Billette, who was found near La Ronge, Sask., has been deemed a homicide. Her body was found by a passing motorist on Highway 102 early last Monday.
A passing motorist spotted the body of Sheena Marie Billette, 28, around 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 23 on Highway 102, approximately eight kilometres north of La Ronge.
RCMP identified Billette on Dec. 24.
An autopsy was completed Friday in Regina.
In a news release, RCMP noted details were limited as the investigation into Billette’s death remains ongoing.
In the days after Billette’s remains were publicly identified, many of her friends and loved ones took to social media to share memories and grieve.
“I’ll always remember that laugh u had n I’ll never forget it. Thx for being there when I needed someone to talk to,” wrote Samantha Misponas in a Facebook post.
“I will miss you always, thanks for the memories. Love you!” wrote Danielle Mirasty in a Facebook post.
